The R&D centre of Sea6 Energy is located at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), Bengaluru. With state-of-the-art platform technologies and a dedicated team of highly qualified scientists, Sea6 is driving science led innovation to create knowledge and develop products of global standards.

Technologies &
Methodologies

On the road to create sustainable solutions, Sea6 has developed novel products from seaweed catering to requirements in various industries like agriculture, animal health, food ingredients and bioplastics.

Genomics

Used to study the structure, function, evolution, and
mapping of a set of genes or genetic material present
in a cell or organism.

Molecular Biology

Used to analyse the structure and function of the macromolecules present in the seaweed.

Chromatography

A technique used for the separation of a mixture. The various constituents of the mixture travel at different speeds, causing them to separate.

Proteomics

It is the large-scale study of sets of proteins produced in an organism, system, or biological context.

Mass Spectrometry

Uses an analytical technique that measures the masses within a sample.

Analytical Chemistry

Expertise to analyse, characterize and quantify individual components of seaplant biomass enabling a library of active ingredients.

Synthetic Chemistry

Engineer novel molecules through chemical modification of components of seaplant biomass.

Ocean
Bioprocessing

With the vision to create an innovative problem solving mechanism to overcome industry problems, Sea6 Energy has curated skill set ranging from identifying various elements of the ocean biomass, isolating them, modifying them, productizing them in multiple forms and ensuring scalability of the processes.

Our
Skill Base

Marine Biotechnology

Is the process of screening and discovering novel salt-tolerant microbes.

Fermentation Technology

Developing a salt tolerant microbial platform to convert sugars into industrial chemicals.

Product Development

Biorefinery approach to extract specific actives from seaplants and customize for multiple industrial applications.

Prototyping

Design and execute pilot tests to establish critical control points and process parameters for ensuring consistent product quality.

Process Engineering

Develop and design processes imbibing quality by design principles for scaling manufacturing from pilot to industrial scale.

Engineering Design

In-house capabilities to design and fabricate novel and special purpose equipment.

Sustainable Design

Our production facilities are designed to operate on minimal fresh water and chemical use, while our manufacturing processes are certified organic as per India and EU equivalent standards.
